I’m reading from other plant sites that misting isn’t necessary and in fact can cause some stress on plants (better to have consistent humidity than periodic). But this app has a misting schedule. Not sure what to do.

My plants have been happy with the misting so far, but my home has low humidity. At the end of the day, you know your plants better than any app! And everyone has a different opinion on how to care for them

You can turn off misting reminders in the settings. Getting a humidifier is a much better option for long term plant health.
4 LikesI don’t mist unless a new growth has trouble unfurling. Consider how the plants live in their natural environment. Tropical plants tend to live on higher humidity. So, having a humidifier is beneficial since the water droplets are very fine, they quickly dry on the plants and the droplets don’t block transpiration (plant releases moisture) in the plant. Very few of those plants live where large droplets of mist are on the leaves unless it rains. Plus, the mist can feed mold/mildew leading to fungal outbreaks. That’s what happened to my plants when I was new to plant care. I regularly misted my plants and continuously fought fungal infections.

I use humidifiers and turned the misting off. One of the things that causes issues with misting is water sitting on the leaves. It’s humidity that plants want. I’d get a hygrometer and leave it near your plants to determine the humidity in your home. Then you can figure out if you need a humidiifer
