Are her leaves curling up at the end because of the usage of tap water??? Has anyone tested this theory?

How often are you watering her? The soil looks moist so It’s possible you’re overwatering or providing too much direct sunlight?

I have a water meter and I bottom water her whenever I do. This was just a picture that I added to my planta, it’s not current right now. And she get very indirect sun, no direct!

Do you think it’s just the use of tap water?! I really don’t know what else it could be 😭

It definitely depends on the tap water in your area but it definitely could be, the minerals and chemicals in tap water can cause curling leaves. I use distilled water and have never had curling and dying leaves compared to when I used tap water. Maybe use distilled water and see if that changes anything?

I bought a tabletop reverse osmosis system for this reason. It was pretty affordable on Amazon and it doesn’t take up much room.

Yup! I use filtered water on all my plants now (just easier for the divas). Calathea’s definitely do better. I’ve invested in a 5 gallon jug and a “spout” off amazon to empty into a watering can. I don’t have this plant specifically but I have a HUGE rattlesnake, Fishbone, prayer plants (maranta - similar but different). Once I made the switch they improved so much

    Not enough humidity

I agree with Yolanda. I always thought low humidity caused leaves to curl.

Recommend tap water treated with aquarium conditioner over distilled water. Distilled will be expensive over time unless you have access to cheap refill stations where you can get it in bulk. You only need 2-3 drops per gallon. Can get it from Amazon or any pet store for pretty cheap
