Does my monstera need a bigger pot or are these typical air roots growing in the back?

My moms looks like that. Her air roots are even longer and one started to dig its way under the carpet in a corner!

That’s the look of a healthy monstera. No action needed if the rest of the plant looks healthy. The air roots are proactively looking for water/nutrients and looking for structural support like a tree/rock/wall to climb to find more sunlight. You can add a tall and sturdy pole for it to climb to train it to grow vertical. 🪴🍀

Those are aerial roots.. you can feed them back into the soil, carefully trim them or give your plant support with a moss pole and guide them up the moss pole

monstera will always put out aerial roots because they want to climb up something. in their natural environment, they climb up trees. if they can't climb, they'll crawl, hence the stem going horizontal out of the pot. i fear it's too big now, so you'll have to chop it, but you can put a stake or a 2x4 plank behind it and the monstera will climb!

How long did it take for your monstera to grow aerial roots?
