Hi! My polka dot plant has been growing straight up, I just replanted her to a wider pot because she was getting root bound. How can I make her spread out/ more bushy? Thanks!

Prune it! Trim back the top leaves to encourage more growth.

I don’t have a polka dot plant, but anything that propagates easily I just trim and put the cut pieces back into the soil to grow.

Would you trim the leaves or the stem? I also have a polka dot plant doing this same thing

These plants also go dormant after flowering, so you’ll want to actively pinch off buds (the little purply pointies that don’t spread into leaves) to keep it growing.

She looks like she may be reaching upward for a bit more light — polka dots can get a little leggy when they’re stretching If she’s hanging fairly high, you might try lowering her a few inches and see how she responds. I also noticed the soil looks slightly mounded around the base — I recommend gently leveling it out so it’s evenly distributed in the pot. This will allow for better stability for the roots and plant, and more even moisture distribution when watering
