Any suggestions on how to put drainage in this pot
Is it ceramic?
0 J'aimeI think so
0 J'aimeHowever you choose to do it, do it very very carefully and slowly. I’d honestly recommend not using this as a drained pot if you want to make sure it stays intact. Ceramic pieces break very easily so trying to put holes in it is going to be tricky because you’re putting enough pressure to make a hole, but trying to not put enough to make it break, and that’s a thin line. I’m trying to think of ways you could do it but every way I’m thinking of would just be too risky, but maybe someone here will have an idea that would work 🥹🫂
0 J'aimeI there another way you suggest to put drainage in it
0 J'aimeIt depends on if the pot is glazed or not. If it’s glazed you can use a tile drill bit. Masonry bit for unglazed
1 j'aimeYou’ll really want to start slow and gently so you don’t crack the pot. You could try wet drilling or adding masking tape over where you’re going to drill
1 j'aimeI believe it has glaze on it because it’s shiny in the inside so I think the mat look on the outside is just an over coat is that still okay
0 J'aimeAnd it is pretty small
0 J'aimeWhat kind of plant are you putting in it?
0 J'aimeI was planning on putting my Dieffenbachia Maculata in it
0 J'aimeI might try to find something a bit bigger for the diffenbachia. They grow pretty quickly. Depending on how small the pot is it could be alright for a succulent as long as you are really vigilant about checking the soil before watering.

You got really lucky. For the future, use a diamond drill bit. Start super slow at a 45 degree angle and use water to keep it from getting too hot. It’s slow, but it the correct way to do it.
0 J'aimeThank I did watch a video on it before and they said the same thing so I used that. Thank you tho
