Hey plant people! I’m having some trouble deciding what to do here… I don’t want my monstera’s aerial root to go into the roots and start making roots of its own. Can I just chop it off? Or should I just suck it up and deal with it? Please someone help soon. It’s almost at the soil as you can see it the picture below ⬇️

Why don’t you want it going into the soil and making roots? It’ll make it more stable and your plant will be happy. I’d personally let it keep doing its thing. But if you really don’t want it to reach the soil some people cut them or maybe you can push it to the side and let it grow down the outside of the pot.

second this, i would highly recommend allowing it to grow into the pot as it will make for a more supported and thus vigorous monstera deliciosa. those aerial roots are designed to support the plant as it grows

You can also stick it in a moss pole!

They get bigger faster when these aerial roots tap into soil. I’ve seen people put a second large pot of soil next to monsteras just for aerial roots.
