hi! just a quick update, it's been maybe 1 or 2 months now and the roots have completely detached from the plant so i am thinking of getting rid of it, but i wanted to ask if aloe vera can get mouldy? i have noticed there are white furry spots on some of the leaves and all the roots are furry too. smells fine but obviously since the roots are dying, so is the plant. any advice is helpful 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Hey I would recommend you look into root mealy bugs/mealy bugs. That is similar to your description. If you want to test, take a cotton swab, dip it in isopropyl alcohol and touch it. If it turns grey, that's what it is 😐

That just seems like regular roots, do you have a picture of what you are seeing on the leaves?
0 likes oh okay thanks! i've never had a plant that had lost it's roots so i was super concerned, here's a photo from earlier today. the plant itself looks fine except from a few dead pieces / pieces that are drying up
