Any advice on what to do with indoor plants while on vacation? I don’t want to over water them before I go because I have some in recovery

    When my husband and I leave the country, we put a timer on our grow lamps and turn our blinds upward (no direct sun). We set up two long tables: one in front of our sliding door and the other one behind the coffee table where I keep the majority of my plants. I have cards taped to the pots with how much and how often to water and when to change their plant spikes. My sister comes every 10 days to water and mist them.

    Depends on how long the vacation is. If it's two weeks or less, water all your plants thoroughly the day before you leave. If it'll be longer than that, you can get someone to plant-sit or set up a wicking watering system using cotton rope and buckets of water. For shorter trips, I've had good luck sticking all my smaller/thirstier plants inside a clear plastic box (after watering, with some damp paper towel in the bottom to raise humidity). I only lost two plants in my humidity chamber (one was already unhealthy and likely to die anyway, and an air plant rotted because it was laying on the bottom; condensation pooled around it.)
