Hi! Was at my local flower shop and spotted gorgeous rubber plant šŖ“ couldnāt get it at that time so I went in today and looked for it it was gone šš lol but thatās okay I spotted this super cute peperomia plant! She was looking rough and soil was sooo dry!!! I cleaned her off with water outside , repotted her in my handmade soil Hopefully she thrive in no time! Any tips would be appreciated!! šš¼šš¼šš¼
My only real credentials are that Iāve got a Peperomia Obtusifolia (which if yours isnāt just a variegated peperomia obtusifolia like mine it looks to be closely related) but from what Iāve learned from mine, they seem to thrive on neglect as long as theyāre watered. Make sure you find the exact type it is first. Some like being misted and some donāt. Mine does once a week. I have it currently in the north window, but it can probably survive a south window from a distance. They do pretty well as long as theyāre within a foot of a window. Donāt water yours too often. Theyāre pretty hardy. Let the soil dry out between waterings. And check for mealy bugs and fungus gnats from time to time, as those are the main two pests for it, especially when closer to points of accesses (i.e. windows and front doors). For now, especially since you repotted yours recently, maybe just try monitoring it for a bit and just leaving it alone. It might get a bit stressed from the relocation and repotting, but after a week I find plants readjust just fine. I bottom water mine to reduce the risk of having any fungus gnats drawn to the top of the soil about once a week to once a week and a half, and Iāve read some sprinkle a bit of cinnamon and spread it on the top of the soil as a natural insecticide. Thatās adorable! I have a peperomia and sheās super easy. The delicate leaves mean she doesnāt like dryness but planta keeps me on track and she doesnāt complain.
