Ms. Calathea Dottie developed green spots where the stem meets the leaves. It also developed a couple of brown spots on one of the leaves. Any suggestions as to why it is happening? Thank you!

Maybe overwatering? I know plants can get like weird spots on their leaves from too much excess water in the soil that they are trying to process

Thank you. I followed the advise for watering, but I guess I should have trusted myself and waited.

Yeah sometimes when this app tells me to water I check the soil and it’s still damp so I snooze is for a couple of days till the top soil is dry

they love humidity, i would also try wiping the leaves off if dusty with a paper towel. Overwatering is easy with these

Try a chunky soil mix, if you look up Calathea potting soil mix on tiktok (or any plant) a lot of people share the best soil mix for any plant! happy to help!

Thank you. I will certainly look into it. Right now, the plant is in the soil from the nursery.
