I have a jade plant in my home. It was propagated and potted about two months ago. It seems to be doing really well. I don’t have a lot of light at my house but it’s under a grow light 6 hours daily. It has even sprouted a bit. What I’m worried about is the white stuff in the soil. Is this normal or should I be concerned???? There is drainage at the bottom of the pot

from what i can tell it's just white mold. it won't hurt your plant, but it isn't pleasant to look at. you can scrape the top layer of soil out with a spoon and treat it with antifungal sprays/sticks or regularly sprinkle with un-sweetened cinnamon. make sure it is JUST cinnamon and no sugar. white mold is usually a sign of overwatering or poor air circulation. your plant doesn't look overwatered to me, so i'd just try to move it closer to a fan or open the window every once in a while

That looks like a pot clip to a Sansi light. If 5 watts it may not be strong enough. Hopefully it’s 10 watts but leave it on much longer. That timer should go up to 12 hours. I have a bunch of those lights. My favorite grow light. And if mold is growing, then you are not allowing the soil to dry out. If the plant is fully rooted, then the soil should be drying out completely between waterings.
