Bought this monstera a year ago. It grew a few new leaves but only 2 were with holes. It seems to be drooping at the bottom where the stem is heavy and thick. It’s not growing as much new leaves and honestly looks a bit naked, not as bushy as it used to be. Is there something I i need to do to improve its health? Would be very grateful for the feedback! Thank for reading🙏🏻💗

is there drainage? also monstera like to drynout between waterings but kept in a humid area. if the light is direct then that cab lead the atems to grow all over the place

There is, but i feel like the soil doesn’t let it work. Probably would have to repot and change the soil. Thanks!

you cab propagate to encourage more growth or hold some of the stems w a claw clip and add a moss pole

I would give it more light, and repot it to a bigger pot with new soil and take off any fine roots that are just taking up space.

Stems are weak and thin, leaves have almost no fenestrations, and almost no growth in a year. Your plant needs much more light. On a side note, your soil looks as if it is very organic with little drainage. It may help to loosen it up with more grit. And I’m assuming your pot has a drain hole in bottom.

I fully agree that it needs more light. A grow light for 12 hours a day is an alternative. I would make sure to fertilize at least once a month or dilute it 50% and fertilize twice a month. I would not repot until it’s almost pot bound

Thanks! That’s very helpful! I’ll definitely consider your advises. I actually started looking at the pictures of it that i took last year and realised that monstera lost a lot of volume☹️ i always try to keep my curtains open, but my windows aren’t as big and not as much light is coming in. I guess I would have to purchase a lamp.

If you’re like, rotating it a little bit too much stop rotating a little bit too much. If you are, that’s why it didn’t have many holes in it.
