Can anyone tell me why my bird of paradise leaves have started to curl? Planta says under watering. I’ve done all the due diligence like checking for pest and all and I can’t figure it out. Just started a week or so ago. I’ve only had the plant maybe three weeks. Other than that, she looks like she’s in perfect health and she even has a huge leaf coming out in the center.

BOP leaves also curl from low humidity or too much direct light. If you know that it isn’t under watered, try to mist it once every other day or add a humidifier near it. Or if in direct light, try bright indirect to see if that helps.

Do you think this is too close to the BOP and should I add a humidifier in this nook.

I agree with Dondoo...leaves curling upwards with bop are because of underwatering or needs more humidity, but also, if too direct, harsh light. I've seen it happen with mine. I moved it into a east morning light area and the leaves curled up, but onced moved away, more indirect they flattened out. I don't have a humidifier around mine, but will mist it occasionally.

      Thanks, I’ll try moving her.

They can love brighter light, but they need to be slowly adjusted to it. I didn't notice before but you have a light there, if the brightness level can be lowered maybe try that instead of moving, because it is a cool corner with the monstera.

I like the nook also, I’ll try lowering the intensity of the light first. Thanks
