Good afternoon. Does anybody know if there is a way to find out the best place to put new plants in the sites you already have before you pot them? I’m asking this as I have 7 plants from my outdoor fairy garden that I’m bringing inside for the winter and I kinda need to know where to put them before I pot them so I’m know what size pot I can use. I’d like to pot them tomorrow. Thank you.

in regards to the size of the pots you put them in, you should check out the root ball and put them in a pot about 2 inches wider than the roots. and as for where to put them, i’d quarantine them incase they have pests you’re worried about spreading to other plants! and then definitely stick them in front of a window that most closely resembles the type of light they were getting when they lived outside :)

Thanks Emily but that’s actually wasn’t what I was looking for. I have 23 other plants I take outside for the summer every year and then I gave a whole process I do before I bring them inside. I have 4 large buckets that I fill with soapy water and let each plant sit for 30 mins. Then I take them out and rinse them. After they are done draining I had Bonide crystals to them to get what ever the soaking didn’t and I also have a Bonide spray I spray all leaves with. These particular plants will get a little bit simpler cleaning as they are very large and I will be pitting them with new soil. My dilemma is I have a total of 42 house plants and adding these new ones is causing me stress to figure out where to put them. I have 7 sites to choose from so I was looking for a way to know where to place them before I pot them so that I’m not wasting my time by using too big of a pot. I know that was a long answer but that’s where I am. Thanks again for reaching out. 🥰😁

oh no i’m sorry for misunderstanding. but wow that’s crazy impressive & a lot of work! a labor of love i’m sure. i don’t think planta is capable of telling you where to put them, though you might be able to use the light meter and see where is more suitable for your specific plants. as much as i HATE using ai, you might have better luck with getting the answers you need!!

Yes they are a labor of love. Until 18 years ago I never gardened a day in my life. Then my daughter and only child died at 26 from a blood clot in her leg the hospital she went to missed. So, the first spring after her death a dear friend from church created a garden in my front yard in her memory. After the first couple of years of my friend helpin me with that garden she told me I was on my own. I now have 8 garden beds, two fairy gardens (one inside all year and one outside for the summer) and 43 house plants. I do all of it as a tribute to my dear Joana. Most of my house plants were gifts to remember Joana. So now you know my story and I was happy to tell you. I think you’re right about using AI. I will check it out as I need to have them all putted and placed tomorrow as I have a full week this week. I now am a public speaker for grief education and helping bereaved parents. Thanks for taking the time to chat with me and give me your thoughts. God Bless. 🥰❤️

When you go to each plants settings, scroll down to the plant site. When you tap on the site as if you are going to change it, all your plant sites will show up. “Recommended” will be displayed with all you sites that seem to have the appropriate lighting
