Calathea rhizome spotted at the bottom of my pot. Is it time for a repot? This is all i can see at the bottom, no other visible roots or rhizomes. I’ve got some browning leaves and wonder if it may be because it’s due for a repot? Also, if i were to repot, what size would be best? It’s currently in a 6” pot. Thank you!

I tend to only go up an inch or two in pot size depending on the root situation. I’ve had some that I will just repot it in the same pot if the roots aren’t huge. If you want you can always start a new pot with the rhizome!

I’d lift it out of the pot and look at it. If you see more roots than soil, or lots of roots are coiling around the bottom, it needs a repot. And if you do repot, only to up 1-2 inches.
