does anyone know the reason for my pothos leaves to be curling? They’ve also become really light and yellow 😬

Either not enough water, needs fertilizer, or the soil is hydrophobic and needs to be changed
1 me gustathe app said this plant doesn’t need fertiliser 🤷♀️ and how would I tell if the soil is hydrophobic?

The app can be wrong. It’ll tell me mine don’t need to be watered for another week but the plants are limp and droopy. When I water them, they’re fine by the next day. To tell if the soil is hydrophobic, take a little bit of the soil out and try to wet it. If the soil won’t absorb the water, it’s hydrophobic
2 Me gustaohh that might be the case actually!! tbh i only have succulent and cactus soil left. Not sure if that would be suitable for the pothos?
0 Me gustaIt absolutely needs fertilizer, that may just be a bug with the app. Hydrophobic soil will have the water pool on-top and not absorb into the soil. You’ll water and it will just run down the sides of the pot without seeping into the soil.

I’ve found that cactus soil is very hydrophobic for pothos 😭 everytime I’ve had a pothos in cactus soil, the soil won’t hold onto the water that they need. Is there a way you can get your hands on some tropical soil?
0 Me gustaSeveral things can cause this look: insufficient light/water, repotting, and moving stress when moving to a new environment.
2 Me gustaSeverely underwatered and the soil it’s in looks terrible. Repot into fresh soil. When the leaves start to wither like that and stems look weak, you wanna try watering it before it gets to this point. Good thing pothos are resilient and it’ll bounce back in no time, with a little tlc.
2 Me gustathank you so much
