Guys. If anyone has any help on how to revive my lavender, I would greatly appreciate it. This plant is really important to me. I don’t know what happened. It was doing so well in its original plastic pot from the store. Then it quickly deteriorated. Planta says it’s suffering from water imbalance. The soil is moist right now. I repotted it like 3 days ago. The leaves are brittle but soft, not crispy. Should I cut the brittle part off? I can’t tell if it’s really dead since it’s not crispy. I do have a fertilized water mixture from the store. But in the meantime, it looks so sad. I don’t think I’ll need to water it for another 5 days or so.

The pot looks like it’s terracotta or concrete which usually absorbs water away from the plant. How much sun is it getting? Since it’s getting close to dormant season it may need less sun to maintain moisture levels. Having both too much sun and a porous pot could cause the plant to go into shock because the water isn’t getting to the roots, even if the soil is moist. Cutting it back would be best even if it looks sad so that there’s more room for new growth! You got this!

Yes, the pot is terracotta. I did notice that adding a small amount of water did drain at the bottom. So I guess the plant wasn’t deprived of water. It was outside for about a week and it was doing well in full sun. But these unexpected cold fronts made it sad so fast. So I put it inside the house and haven’t put it back outside even though today it’s 65 degrees. But my apartment doesn’t get much sun inside. I bought a little greenhouse contraption for my plants to see if they stay warm. My apartment can get pretty cold. If I cut too many of the leaves off, would that shock it too?

I think with the cold and moving location is a lot for the plant on top of the other things you mentioned. Maybe start with cutting off the parts that have dead stem and leave some on it so it’s not cutting into the healthy part of the plant. Then it’s giving more energy and nutrients to the new growth rather than to try to keep the old alive.

I’d just check and make sure the soil right under the top is also moist because it could be hydrophobic and appear wet and let the water out the bottom but actually be dry around the roots. I wouldn’t think it would be after a new repot but worth a quick check
