I use a chopstick stick or the water sprayer... though i have an RO filter so it makes the cold water low pressure. You could chopstick her, then soak a bit and rub off any excess soil you need to.

To remove soil you take it out

…I keep my spider plant in tap water, it’s hydroponic. I didn’t even know about this lol. I know our tap is relatively “clean” though

I've been told tap is the cause of browning tips of My spider so I've been extra cautious of ruining it

I typically loosely shake the plant at its base, to remove excess potting mix. Next, I would use the shower setting on a hose sprayer with low water pressure to rinse away as much as possible of what little soil may still remain attached to the roots. The tap water will not ruin the plant on low pressure settings. *Spider plants can survive with only tap water, once soil removal is achieved to its best. The plant can grow solely as a hydroponic.
