Hey propagation friends! I had watched a random Instagram reel about propagating a jade plant this way. Not really thinking it would work with a random leaf that had fallen, I put it together and generally left it alone. To my surprise I check it one day and found some growth! Now I’m not sure about the next step. I’m relatively new to being a plant mom and absolutely new to propagating plants. Sorry these aren’t the best pictures.
You can lay it on top of some soil that's what I do with mine.
Same! I just put it on top and lightly water when dry. Once it has a stem forming and visible roots, I put it in a starter pot. I have grown many this way.
I am so confused and intrigued by what is going on in this photo. 😂
2 Likes 😆 In the video I watched, you attach the leaf to the inside top of the jar and then fill another jar with water. Then put it on top to create a tiny biome. I don’t know…I was reporting the jade and one of leaves fell off so I said what the heck we’ll see what happens. I’ve only had to refill the water once. It’s been quite a few weeks. Trust me, I am also intrigued. 🤨🤣
