Sorry for the bad quality, but does anyone know what this bug is? I found it on my alocasia Update! I’ve been researching them and I believe they might be thrips but they say online these may be beneficial thrips! Not sure. Can someone help?

Maybe a springtail? They don’t harm plants as as far as I know. They help with soil decomposition.

I’m so confused! I’m not sure if I should try 💀ing them or not 😭

I’d wait and see. Examine your plant closely the next few days. If there’s any brown spots or signs of infection, I’d kill them. If not, keep them. :)

Thrips will bite into leaves and suck the sap out. They can be predatory, but you would also see aphids or some other small bug they would attack. I would definitely watch your leaves and separate that plant from any others just in case.
