Just bought this peace lily (I’ve never had one) and it was in a 3in pot, I repotted it and found a lot of compacted root growth. I’m looking to buy a different pot since the one I put it in is about 5in (it’s all I have currently) but was wondering what size pot would be better, it’s about 8in tall but seems to be more than one plant. Any recommendations?

From what I know, when you repot you only want to go up an inch or two in pot size, as most plants like to be tight and cozy. Too much space can lead to overwatering or retaining too much water that then can cause root rot or other problems. So the 5 in pot seems appropriate. By looking at the picture, the plant doesn’t seem to be sitting too high above the soil nor do I see roots sticking out. So I think it seems fine. But I’ve never had a peace lily so I don’t know if they need anything specific
