Hello, my avocado plant is starting to grow roots out of the drainage holes of her pot, and I want to repot her into a bigger pot. But I am not sure if the big pot will end up being too big and cause root rot. The dimensions of the current pot is 11cm diameter x 8cm depth and the other pot which I am planning to repot to is 15cm diameter x 14 cm depth. Thanks :)!

Well if you’re gonna repot it, since the dirt is low, you could put more dirt on the bottom and have it be a little higher up. And, if you’re gonna repot, it should only be a pot a little bigger, not that much bigger

I agree that you can just repot it higher in its own pot since it’s sitting so low

As someone who currently has 4 avocado trees I respectfully disagree with the other posters. These are trees and get extensive route systems pretty quickly. I think your larger pot is a good idea at this point. Otherwise you’re going to feel like it needs to be repotted again in a couple of months.
