My Red Vine might have Mealy Bugs. Ahhhh. I have it quarantined and I cleaned and remove what I could see. I think my other plants are safe. Any other suggestions.

Oh they are the worst. I sprayed mine with alcohol daily and get into the crevices they are sneaky little buggers
0件のいいねSpraying instead of wiping? I might try that.
いいね 1件Yep I spray them and if I find one I wipe it off too
0件のいいねI use 70% isopropyl alcohol too. Seems to be the most effective. I did it every 3 days or so for a bit. Just make sure the alcohol evaporates before putting the plant back in the light
0件のいいねThat is different that rubbing alcohol? I will need to get some is it sold next to the first aid section?
0件のいいねIt’s the same. Sometimes you can find it in different strengths. But the 70% is good because it isn’t too harsh and evaporates fairly quickly
0件のいいねAnd yes, I would spray vs wipe to get into crevices. You can use a qtip soaked in alcohol to remove what you see but the spray gets into the crevices
0件のいいねI should also add that I have done this on a syngonium and it handles it fine
0件のいいねi've had mealies on my syngoniums too and i also spray with 91% rubbing alcohol. once per day or once every few days. another good thing to help with getting rid of them, next time you have to water this plant take it into the shower and rinse off the foliage. it's a good way to dislodge pests and keep the leaves clean

Run a mix of one part hydrogen peroxide to three parts water through the soil. You still need to do the alcohol on the bugs themselves but that will catch anything that's gone into the soil.
いいね 1件I have hydrogen peroxide I will do that soon.
いいね 1件I deal with mealys frequently because they seem to love succulents. Quarantine for sure. Swab off the mealys and visible egg sacks. Every three days spray with insecticidal soap or a product called Systemica. Do this for about three weeks. Systemica continues working after spraying because it’s absorbed into the plant. You absolutely must repeat the spraying because of their life cycle and ability to hide so well. You can add a custom task to spray your plant from within the app.
0件のいいねShould I spray other plants just in case? I just purchased this from the same nursery as my money plant, but he seems ok.
0件のいいねSort of your call on that. I would very carefully inspect nearby plants and probably spray them a few sessions. But I probably wouldn’t isolate them. Unless you found a lot of mealy bugs.
いいね 1件You need Bonide Systemic. I had mealy bugs on my Ponytail Palm and it is helping.
