Does my dieffenbachia have spider mites? Yes. Did I just so happen to find a tiny war weapon days before noticing the mites? Yes. This is Horseradish, a baby (i2, for those wondering) jumping spider. He (or she) is named after the jar he was originally homed in. We agreed on free rent and utilities if he fights valiantly for my dieffenbachia. He is the ultimate weapon of choice. 10/10 recommend.

Jumping spiders are too smart. I had a couple on my kitchen counter that took care of the random fruit flies. 🕷️

Where does one find a jumping spider?

In the corner of your living room 😂😂. JK but you don’t really find one in the wild, they are really small

And, how does one keep them where you want them?

If there are bugs to eat, he stays. If there is no food, he leaves.

I don't think I will cultivate food so they can eat. I think I have seen this little jumping spider. They are very cute as long as they stay off of me.

Holy cow I had no idea! The enemy of my enemy is my friend. 🤔

They are the only spider I like. They are smart and curious. They would come out on the kitchen counter when we came home from work. They recognize people. There are several varieties in different sizes.

My insect loving child is now telling me that jumping spiders can be taught tricks and can recognize faces!
