So I’ve got a Nematanthus ‘Shady Lady Mae’ that I’ve had for a few months now. She’s a combination of two shady ladies, one sent through the mail from a nursery, and the other from a local plant shop. I have one branch (from what I believe is the second half of the plant) that’s had orange flower buds since I bought her in November, but the rest of the branches and blooms excluding this sole branch resembles a classic Shady Lady Mae. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me if this one branch is doing something uniquely beautiful, or if it’s perhaps a different cultivar of Nematanthus. TIA! (The first two photos are my orange branch, and the last two photos are what the rest of the plant looks like)

Thank you! ☺️ Mei’s one of my favorites, so I love documenting new blooms. I’m waiting until she’s in full bloom like she was in the fall so I can have a good progress photo from when I got the second half of her in November. Highly recommend taking one home if you ever spot one. They’re so easy care for flowering houseplants. 🌺

Second flower from this branch came in and she looks a little ready to bite me when I water her 😂
