Help! Any idea what’s going on with my white ghost cactus? He was in the shade mostly and I have just switched him to more sun in the last week so I’m hoping that will help?! It looks almost like rust on the bottom

That looks like scale to me. Try scraping one off to see if it’s a bug.
0 J'aimeIf so, should I try to use 100% isopropyl alcohol?

Yes, but you will have to remove them by scratching them off. It won’t be as easy as just spraying. I use 70% alcohol. Make sure to put it in the shade for a couple of days. Alcohol will make it burn.
0 J'aimeUgh sounds taxing. Will they overtake my plant and kill it if I don’t do this asap?

Not asap. You can wait a few days. Also, there are heavier pesticides that would require less work. You could research if you would like to take that route. I don’t have much experience
0 J'aimeI’ve had scale on my aloe and I used bonide horticultural oil on it to kill them ☺️
1 j'aimeDid it work? And do the red spots go away?
0 J'aimeYes it worked and it cleaned the plant too, I didn’t scrape them off. I had less than you do though
