Hi Im still new to the plant life and whatnot, planta is saying I need to repot some of my plants. I know it’s beneficial to them but I was wondering if they’re doing just fine and thriving, do I still need to repot? I have terracotta pots and I don’t want them to go to waste and I don’t want to keep buying more.
The app is not always right about everything if they're doing fine and they don't look over crowded I d leave them, if I waited to water my plants when the app tells me to they would all die long time ago 😩☠️🥴🤦♀️🤣
6 likesPersonally, that's one of the little "glitches" about Planta that I don't like. There is zero way for them to know when a plant needs repotting. My Monstera has been repotted 3 times since last summer because of how quickly the roots grow on it. If the plant is still thriving, I personally would not repot. I wait a bit until I can pull the plant out in one clump then just plop it in a bigger planter and surround it with fresh soil. Most plants will tell yoy when they need to be repotted; falling leaves, not as perky, needs constant watering etc...
8 likesSome plants need to be repotted annually and others every 2-3 years. If you do change pots you should only go up one size sometimes all they need is fresh soil.

There is a repotting glitch right now. Usually every 6-12 months is plenty for most plants
