I’m as beginner as it gets. Orchids are my favorite flower. I’ve never been able to keep one alive. Just bought a small one for my new apartment… 2 weeks in… please give me any and all tips! Thank you 🤍 If I can figure this out, I’ll be happy forever lol

    1. Clear pot with good drainage holes. 2. Just use orchid bark. 3. Water when roots are silver looking. 4. Can just dunk the whole thing into a bowl of water til roots go green. 5. Don’t get the crown wet, dry as soon as. Can cause crown rot. 6. Bright indirect light. 7. Dust leaves whenever you see fit. 8. Google or check out videos on other socials for cutting back etc 9. That’s all I got 😂 10. HAPPY GROWING 🌸 - Ps, this is just what I do personally.

These are the three most important things I found with my moth orchid: - keep it in good light, mine is about 6”-8” back from an unobstructed east window and she’s the happiest I’ve ever seen her. I’ve not used a grow light, but I would think they would do well with one if necessary. - put it in an orchid pot with orchid bark/orchid bark mix (both of which can be easily found at Lowe’s or Home Depot). This will change how/how often you water but it’s worth it; her roots are so happy. - fertilizer spray that is sprayed right onto the leaves. I have had the best luck with this type; just be careful not to let liquid sit in the crown (where all the leaves meet) or it can rot. I just absorb any in that area with either a tissue or a paper towel. Good luck! She’s really pretty!
