I started using this app earlier this year, and I noticed that it tends to prompt me to overwater my plants. I want to get on top of my watering schedule because I have a trip coming up in the fall and I want to make it easy on my plant sitter. Is there a way to see the frequency of watering on each plant? I’ve looked around and there doesn’t seem to be anything that’s straightforward.

Have you looked at the history for each plant?

They give you the option to skip it because the soil is already wet, this will automatically readjust your schedule. I’ve had to skip many plants because it’s wanting me to water way too much. I put a bamboo skewer in the bottom of my pot and if it comes up dry, that’s when I water.

I love the bamboo skewer idea! Brilliant!

Completely agree with the skewer method. If the soil sticks to it, wait at least 2 days, then test it again. You can buy a bunch of metal skewers if you want a reusable option. Bamboo ones just tend to be cheaper to get in bulk. As for a watering schedule, going into your plant’s individual settings and changing it to a “custom watering schedule”, then setting it to how long till your specific plant takes to dry out will help you prevent overwatering your plants too.

If you go to the plant info there’s a history section and it will tell you when all the past tasks have been completed

I got a moisture meter for $15 at ace hardware. Helps me feel sure

I look up each plants water preference and most say “water when top soil is dry or when 50% dry. Then I put a finger in there or chopstick to see how damp it is going down. Then I water it until the soil is moist but not soggy. But some plants prefer wet feet and some prefer dry.
