Anyone know why this little guy is growing some roots way up high as well as a new shoot (growing up the side of the glass)? In a terrarium, which it seems to like a lot, but I was just curious why it’s started to grow like this.

More moisture on the side of the glass? Lol, I'm just guessing, but looks like it.
1 likeHigh humidity can cause air roots to grow in certain plants. Nothing to worry about but if you don’t like them reduce the moisture levels in the terrarium.

1 like(I read about these last night...) Selaginella lives on shady forest floors and uses those roots to anchor and spread. They stay short, only a few inches tall, but they can get 18" wide.
1 likeOh wow, so I might need a short and wide terrarium at some point
1 likeThat's what I was thinking as well! I'm looking at the 27" Akerbar from Ikea. I was thinking Selaginella, a nerve plant, and some carnivorous plants. 🤔
