I’m sorry but is this a mushroom?

sure is! not harmful to the plant but it could indicate that your soil might be holding onto water longer than this zygo would prefer so be cautious

Well I watered it last on May 28th and I’ve snoozed watering it multiple times. I watered it a few days ago. And then this mushroom popped up. The soil takes forever to dry and I have no idea why

I would get it out of there, get eyes on the roots. and get it a new more well draining soil. my zygo was taking forever to dry out - which is all wrong for these epiphytes — the leaves all looked “fine” — but it was barely growing and it should have been (summer!) so I pulled it out — turns out it was quietly rotting!!! i downsized the pot and put it into perlite, fine orchid bark, and earthworm castings. she’s on the mend

Yea it’s been rotting for awhile where the thick wooded branches turn to mush…I’ve been using cactus soil so I guess that’s not good enough. I just repotted it with new soil in March.

yes ok this looks great! you have lots of good roots but your pot is too big — a downsize and a better draining soil plus some time will turn this baby around
1 likeThe soil needs to dry out like a cactus. Use perlite in the soil to help the soil dry out
