I have a wide variety of plants that I am maintaining. Knowing which fertilizers to buy is stressing me out a bit. Is there a general option that can cover a wide range of plants or is it better to buy specific fertilizers for each category of plants that I have? The plants I have range from Pothos, Alocasia’s, succulents, monstera’s, tropical, etc.

Planta Okay, sorry if this ends up being super long and confusing, I’ll try my best to explain how you could do this. I feel like you could go one of two ways, in both you end up with basically the same results You could put in the work now to focus on one plant at a time, researching what it needs and helping it thrive before moving on to the next one, and at the end (or whatever point in your journey you find it) you also have a general fertilizer that you can use for new plants until you can find what they need. Or you could find a general fertilizer now and focus on one plant at a time after. You could also just stop at “my succulents have one fertilizer and my tropicals have another and that’s it” I feel like it comes down to if you prioritize having each plant thrive individually or if your more of a “whole group health” kind of person. Either way it will be find it’s just finding a balance of what your schedule and stress levels can handle. I hope this wasn’t too confusing, if you have any more questions I can definitely try to clarify!

I use Arber plant food for all of mine. I have over 330 houseplants, all different varieties and they’re all doing great! 😊

I have a variety too, even some in a semi-hydro. But, mainly I only use a general all purpose, but since the majority is tropical I do also have another one for the tropicals.

I use Miracle Gro for my 200 plants and dilute it to apply it more often in summer. They are fine with this old school stuff. I would use specific fertilizer for plants that are sensitive or need acidic conditions such as roses, rhododendrons, azaleas, conifers, and tomatoes. 🪴🍀

I use Espoma Organic Indoor fertilizer for all my plants. I dilute to half strength for my finicky ones (marantas and alocasia) and use as recommended for the rest (pothos, succulents, syngoniums, philos, etc)
