I’ve managed to keep this orchid alive and it has bloomed twice. What do I do with the roots? Is this an indication that it needs to be repotted? I’ve never been good at orchids. Scared to touch it!

LeafyGreenhouseIt’s aerial roots they are completely normal and will stick out of the pot it means the plant is pretty happy!

As long as the roots look healthy, you can leave them in open air. If they get wrinkly and look dehydrated, you can repot with them under the bark. If you choose to repot, soak the roots in water for 20 minutes to an hour to help make them flexible. As for the ones going over the leaves, it's better to let those be aerials than to get water in the crown or damage them by bending them too far. Remember to keep the crown high enough in the bark that it won't get wet when watering. The best time to repot is when the plant is not flowering (repotting can make the flowers fade early), and when the roots show new growth
