Iād cut it above the lowest node. I donāt know what kind of plant it is so I canāt speak to that, but if thereās a node beneath the cut it should put new growth out there.
5 LikesYou can also air layer to get roots near that top piece. First, though you'd need a stake for support. Then once you have roots. Clip the plant below the air layer, to have one plant. Then clip just above a node on the "mother" plant to get it to focus growth there.
1 LikeWhen you do cut, try to do it at a slight angle. Not too diagonal but not straight across either. I donāt have this specific plant, but when I trim my pothos I cut close immediately above the node, but without harming the node. If youāre trying to do something with the top half, then after you cut right above the node to remove it from the plant. Look at the bottom of the stem of the part you just cut off. You want to cut that right below its bottom most node. So basically you want the nodes to stay on the ends of each thing you want to keep. So if you keep the top too, then youāll end up just cutting the stem part off between the 2 nodes. Hopefully I explained this well, itās kinda hard to do over text. Lmk if you have any questions about that! If youāre asking about what part of the vine, itās up to you. Whatever you think looks the most aesthetically pleasing. A rule of thumb though is to keep 2/3 of what part is most important to you attached. Good luck! š«¶š»
3 LikesAfter looking closer, Iād say to cut above the node thatās above the leaf thatās half way up the vine. That way the mother plant still has that leaf. So basically cut in half instead of at the bottom is my advice personally
