Hey all! I am a fairly new plant mom and I decided to buy a monstera Thai constellation (at least I think that’s what this guy is). Is it normal to have the brown section on the stem of the one leaf? Not sure what it is!!

congrats on your (first??) rare plant purchase! in my experience, thats normal for all monsterras! these guys can be a sensitive to root rot, so i recommend using the plants notifications as a reminder or check in rather than a set schedule. have fun and good luck!!

Does your pot have drainage? These plants are very prone to root rot. They like a chunky, well draining soil mix. I would recommend you putting it in a clear pot with lots of drainage, this way you can keep an eye on the roots. You can always put the clear pot inside your decorative pot, if you want to. She’s a beauty. Good luck!

It’s normal! Also friendly reminder to keep out of direct sunlight so those beautiful white sections don’t get sun burn 🫶🏻
