My office plants sit under a grow light and are plenty happy, but occasionally when the sun is out I pop them on the windowsill for the day. I had a sudden worry, though, about whether plants need consistency over a nice burst of sunlight. They can’t live on the windowsill because of the shutters and I’m not going to move them back and forth every day. So, is the occasional day of natural light beneficial? Thanks! X

If they’re regularly near light/the window and you put them directly in the window occasionally you should be fine. It’s taking them from major shade to bright hot light that might be cause for concern. Plants need time to adjust to the light.

      Thanks, that’s really helpful 😊
