Lowes just received a beautiful shipment of plants and I am itching to bring some new plants into my space. However, I do not want to just pick any plant. Being a new plant mom with a Chinese evergreen (I've had for almost a year this July) hanging in there…I want to make sure that I know what I am getting into beforehand. My house is more low-lighting friendly although I have beautiful windows in the hallway and stairwell as well as my bedroom. Any ideas?? What were some of your favorites that you found easy to maintain and is currently thriving beautifully.

My philodendron birkin (first pic) is a lovely grower. Recommend! I know Calatheas can be finicky (third pic) and the other two i have not owned- but seem like “easy” foliage guys!

Thank you for commenting. I've heard the same about the calathea and always find myself drawn to the most exotic-looking foliage. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I've seen a lot about the philodendron Birkin all good things. Tough decision to make. Thanks again!

calatheas are VERY finicky so I’d stay away from one of those for now. a philodendron birkin is easy, as most philodendrons are. but in lower light, you’ll likely lose the stripes that make the leaves so pretty. any plant with a solid colour (jade pothos or heart leaf philodendron) are better in lower light. so are ZZs and snake plants.

Dieffenbachia’s are pretty easy and don’t require much (not to mention they look pretty)
