Hey y’all! So my friend reached out to me because her tree is having some issues and she wants to know how to revive it. She got this tree from someone about 5 years ago. It was in good health when she got it and has remained that way for the most part until this fall. I tried to get as much info as possible so we can try to figure out what it needs to be revived! ☺️ They were told it’s a banana tree, but we aren’t sure if that’s true. It’s never grown any bananas 😂 So if anyone can confirm or knows what it is, that would be a bonus! When she got the plant, she was told to water with a gallon of water once a week. So she waters it that way and has been since she got it. She said it gets about 5 hours of sunlight each day, not sure if it’s direct or not though. They did move a year ago, and she said it was shocked after the move. But she’d brought it back to good health and then it started looking rough again this fall. It hasn’t been repotted since she’s had it, and we don’t know if/ when the previous owner had done it. She also doesn’t use any sort of fertilizer or anything either. I think it may be getting overwatered, and I think it also needs to be repotted, possibly with a larger pot, and I think it needs more light as well! But I’m also still somewhat new to plants and have never had this one, so I figured I’d ask here and see what you all thought! Any and all help is greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance! 😁
Anyone know why my aloe is doing this? Is it under watering or not enough sun? Only a couple of the things are doing it not all of them
Anyone know what this white stuff is on the pot? I keep wiping it off but it comes back. It makes white lines. Tia!
Hoya nerds! Just got a Hoya acuta (aka verticillata) albomarginata from online seller. See pics. Leaves vary from seemingly unaffected to severely. Black spots are in the plant tissue, and cannot be wiped away. Plant seems generally heathy overall. Any ideas what might cause this? Ordered with two other Hoyas (diff species) that appear unaffected as well.
Moved this plant from Pennsylvania to Florida about a year ago. This lemon tree has been doing really bad. New leaves grow out and instantly drop. Any tips?
Is my lavender dormant or dying? Please help! It’s my first one…
Hyia, anyone know why my spider plant Steve has gone all sad? He was doing great in the summer but since the autumn he’s gone all droopy and limp :(. In august he made some babies, but they’re very leggy and there’s only one stem 🤷♀️. I repotted him yesterday and he was extremely root bound but very healthy. He also has this reddish stuff at the centre…? Thanks x
Can someone help me with my monstera plant, I love him so much and it worries me that he’s not doing the best. He was in the light but I’ve moved him to the corner and he seems to like it. Any help would he appreciated!
does anyone know what the pinkish tinge is? I’ve been trying to regrow this after it got root rot and it’s been under a grow light for a couple weeks. no clue if it’s normal or some sort of disease 😂 appreciate any help forgive me if it’s not the right plant species linked I had a hard time identifying it 🥲
Hello, I got this gorgeous ficus from Facebook marketplace. I brought it home and then one leaf in the middle of the plant selectors this sort of decay. I didn’t think anything of it, as it was just moved and that can happen with plant adjusting. But now it’s dropped at least three leaves, and the rest of this side is developing this. It’s only on one of the stalks though, the other one is completely fine. What is happening?
my moon cactus is feeling squishy at the bottom, definitely over watered it. If it put it in front of my grow light will it dry up or do i need to change soil? 🤦♀️
my heart. 😔💔i thought she’d be fine for a week when i went on vacation. guess i was wrong. I don’t think there’s any salvaging her is there? 😔
does this look like over or under watering on my Chinese money plant?
Hi guys! I bought this to help with gnats and I put one drop in a gallon of water. I still have gnats. Should I add more drops?
I’ve got a stem routing on my global green Pothos…any ideas? It’s otherwise been a healthy and voracious plant. I water when the soil is nearly all dry. It does have a root coming out the bottom but I wouldn’t think that would cause rot.
I checked on my maranta that I have growing in water and found this!! I’m not sure what pest it is but it’s freaking me out. I washed the plant and vase, sprayed all over with a neem oil solution, and I’m now quarantining it. Any thoughts on what it is and any other steps I can take? TIA
Hiya, i got this philodendron a few months ago, it was healthy till last month, its these two leaves yellowing with brown spots, rest of the plant is healthy + new leaves coming in regularly. not sure what's causing this or if its normal?
I bought a rescue Croton from Lowe’s to try to save (it was $4 and is nooottt in good shape). I can’t tell if it has spider mites or not. If it does (I’m leaning that direction), how do I attack it? I see so many different ways to combat it. Thankfully the plant is in quarantine faarrrrr away from my normal plant collection so they will be safe.
