What do you do when your African Violet gets a long stalk? Do I chop it off and replant it or do I just leave it? I know itâs had issues, but Iâm trying to revive it.
I got this plant collection as a birthday present from 1800 Flowers. Itâs of course absolutely freezing outside and the soil was soaking wet. This baby rubber plant (I think) isnât looking good. Is this frost damage? Is he a goner? I am having a hard time trying to find its roots.
Hi! This is my second pickle plant and Iâm not sure if it was already hurting when i bought it or if iâm doing something wrong. Any tips? Itâs in direct sun and iâve been treating it like a succulent and only watering when dry.
Howdy! New to the plant parenting realm and looking for advice for two of my plants that seem to be really struggling this winter. My poor babies need help. My Golden Pothos(I think; 1st pic) has saggy/drooping leaves. I just repotted, removed dying vines and added leca balls. My Prayer Plant (2nd pic) has leaves that are curling and has had a lot of yellowing leaves that have been removed. Repotted, added leca balls and moved into a room with a humidifier. My Ficus Bonsai(3rd pic) has lost majority of its leaves, not sure why. I added leca balls and started to water less. Any insight on these babies is greatly appreciated!
Any advice for getting rid of spider mites? I have two rubber trees that I have been battling spider mites for months. I treated with neem oil after hosing them down in the shower but they always seem to come back. I have also tried wiping down the plants regularly. I am pretty on top of it so I notice pretty quick when they are back but would like to get rid of them for good.
What plants survive well under air vents? I have lost a couple in that spot in the house.
I repotted my fiddle leaf fig maybe a month ago but I think I did a bad jobđđ» I was wondering if it would be wise to try again or should I just leave it? Thank you!
Can you guys please tell me why my bamboo turned like this? I donât know if itâs the cold weather or if my cat might peed on it. Iâm just very sad because Iâve had it for more than 4 years and it was always so beautiful. Iâm not sure if itâs dead or not, but please someone tell me if thereâs anything to do to save it.
Anyone know what might be the issue with my crispy wave fern and how I can fix it?
Okay I have a few things going on here⊠a manjula that keeps getting dark wilty spots, a cactus with weird rust looking dots and a jade plant thatâs got mealies maybe? Any help with any of these would be awesome!
Hey! So Iâve had this pothos for about a year maybe, Iâve had no problems with her until now and (she was getting big and beautiful sheâs not so big now because recently I went a little chop and prop crazy đ«ą) but Iâve been having a ton of fungus nats, so I used 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide and 4 parts water to get rid of the eggs in the soil. Today when I looked at her, some of her leaves looked like this! Lots of Black spots on the leaves. At first I was afraid it was a pest problem, but I didnât see anything, and it happened so suddenly, so now Iâm afraid that maybe I sprayed her with too much hydrogen peroxide? Or maybe that I got it on her leaves and I wasnât supposed to? Any advice, or knowledge would be GREATLY appreciated and very helpful, thank you in advance!! Ps. I also very recently repotted her, because I realized the pot she was in was way too big for her, and I also changed the soil so now sheâs in a perlite/soil mix
This dracaena plant was one of my first plant purchases last spring⊠I honestly donât pay much attention to it because itâs been fairly boring/slow growing, but recently itâs gotten some areas with yellow and brown, not sure whatâs causing it? The leaves itâs appearing on are the newer leaves tooâŠ
My friendâs heat broke for ~48 hours during this cold snap in Michigan and a lot of her stems froze (temp got down to 28F in her house by the end). Now theyâre wilted after defrosting, and itâs unclear which can be saved. Any advice for figuring out which ones are okay? Has anyone dealt with a sudden frost snap before? How can she prevent fungus as they recover? Any help is appreciated!
Hi everyone! I recently got succulent from a friendâs house, where it was on a fully shaded porch and received pretty much no care. It looked pretty much just like this when I got it. Succulents are not my forte, but even I can tell this isnât looking good. I repotted it into fox farm potting soil when I got it, and gave it a good watering. The old soil was completely dry and had basically turned to dust. However, about two days later the leaves feel mushy. I have now put it in completely dry soil. Itâs in a south facing window in a climate that stays above 45°, even at night. Iâm thinking this potting soil is too dense, and it might need to be in a different type of pot? At this point I canât tell if Iâve messed with it too much - Is there any hope for this plant? ***update: thank you for the help everyone! I am going to give a succulent potting mix a try and see if that helps!
Whatâs wrong with my cactus? I bought this in early Decemver then repotted it in a welldraining soil without watering it. I watered this less than a week ago when the soil checked out as dry all the way to the bottom. I noticed the tips are browing. Idk what Iâm doing wrong đ
I have a star plant and it started off very pink and now itâs very pale Iâm planning on watering it more and getting it more sunlight is there anything else I can do to restore the color?
Ive been battling mealy bugs for 6 months, and I cant seem to get them to go away, I live in a very small town and cant really order much online bc im still in high-school so jobs are extremely hard to get, is there anything I can get from places like walmart, tractor supply, etc? Ive been using Neem Oil and Garden Safe insecticidal soap, diluted alcohol spray and repotting the infected, but they just come back and im really at a loss on what to do, i dont want to have to completely restart.
I am an inexperienced string succulent parent. Iâve had this String of Pearls for a year and I havenât noticed the puckering in the past. Could this be an indication of a watering imbalance? Thank you in advance đȘŽ
I got this purple passion plant around new years and she was doing really well until the last week or two. She was getting droopy, so I (bottom) watered her and she perked right up. But now sheâs worse than ever and still moist. Pic below
