Hi all, my rubber tree has spider mites! Can anyone advise on what has worked well to get rid of them? Iâve isolated it and plan on picking up neem oil, but Iâm open to other suggestions. Thanks!

So, my dill for my aerogarden has been not so good. I donât know what is going on, but I think it may be root rot. Do I just keep it in a separate container so it doesnât spread?
Thrips! Everyoneâs nemesis and so easy to miss. I found a great video on You Tube âthe life cycle of thripsâ on the Koppert channel. Iâm guessing thrips damage is so often overlooked by us all because these little buggers are almost impossible to see until theyâre full grown adults. By then theyâve laid hundreds of eggs inside the tissue of our plants. The damage caused by them is varied. đ„Ž
My desert rose has been slowing dropping its leaves and i canât figure out why. They get these weird brown spots then shrivel up and drop. And the bulb has just recently gotten slightly squishy. I donât think itâs overwatered and itâs definitely not getting too little sun. Any ideas?
Anyone know whatâs up with my money tree? The past few months she has been turning yellow and dropping all its leaves. The pot it was in was too small, so I repotted her and put out a bunch of new shoots in response, but is still dropping leaves (although at a slower rate). It seems like she wants to get rid of all old growth. She was doing so well until October when she stopped growing completely then started dropping leaves. Any help would be appreciated! I just moved so I now have her a foot below a grow light in a northern corner. She used to be a couple feet from a southern window with plenty of sun.
Why is my orchid leaf turning yellow?
Can you identify this pest on string of pearls
Help my Stripped Calathea! I got my Calathea in December as a graduation gift. It was already is bad shape when I received it and Iâve been working to revive her as I know these plants are sensitive. She is in a self watering pot with tropical plant soil. I only water it with melted room temperature snow water for now, and will be watering with rainwater as we get into spring. Through the environment change and repot she was doing okay, stable but not thriving. In the last 2 weeks she has gotten a lot crispier. The areas around the crispy edges are yellow, and it keeps progressing. She currently sits in my west facing bathroom windowsill, receiving ~3 hrs of direct light and lots of indirect light. The environment is relatively humid, with 1-2 showers a day. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to better care/ revive her! Thanks! đ
Iâve struggled with my calathea orbifolia ever since bringing them home last August. I finally had them stable and in good health. Recently though Iâve noticed one has yellow/brown spots on 2 leaves and the other one has a large dry section that continues to grow bigger on the leaf. Does anyone know the cause of this or what I can do? I use filtered and purified drinking water on my plants. Itâs currently 40% humidity in here. Typically though itâs usually between 40%-50% in the room.
I was running an errand today, and the pharmacy (of all places) was selling bonsaiâall five were wild coffee plants, and all were in a pitiful state. I bought the two that were closest to giving up, see pic, removed the dead and dying leaves, took them out of the tin pot so they can get some air through the nursery pot. And I watered themâIâm pretty sure theyâd been sitting there for a week without any water. Now theyâre in a sunny spot and Iâm planning to repot them when theyâre stronger, but Iâm not sure whether to use bonsai potting mix (which would be appropriate for the size) or regular potting soil with extra perlite. Right now theyâre sitting in some kind of soil thatâs as hard as cement, even after watering. Any advice? đđŒ
This is my ugly little houseleek haha. When I bought it a year or so ago it was cute. I didnât know much about it or how it would grow. Is this normal? Should I be doing something differently?
Anyone have experience with beneficial bugs like lacewings for example? I have a lot of plants and Iâm at the point where I really donât want to deal with pests too much. Mostly just not very good with treating them Debating about ordering lacewing larvae. So⊠Does anyone have experience with lacewing or other beneficial bugs? If so, how difficult is âapplyingâ them to the plants (I.e. placing them on the plants in a safe and effective manner)? Are they effective? Are they more preventative? Treatment option for current infestations? Or can they function as both? Are they bothersome? All of my plants are indoor plants and a good chunk of them are in my room. Managed to take care of a gnat problem fairly well but when the gnat problem was badâŠit was REALLY annoying If anyone recommends them, any recommendations for where to buy them from? Thanks everyone! Sorry for the long post
When I first got my Moth Orchid, the roots were nice and green. Now, the roots are green..but they have weird brown scabs on them. (And by roots I mean the roots above-soil) please help, whatâs going on?!
my lovely little gold star croton isn't looking too happy :( it's leaves are droopy and the bottom few are turning yellow.. dr planta says it could need to be repotted or could be a watering issue, but i wanted to see if anyone had advice before i do anything to it
Hi. Iâve had this dieffenbacchia for a year. It did great outside in the spring and summer but itâs been a struggle since I brought it inside. It was so full and beautiful previously. Iâve cut back the yellowed leaves as I will after this photo. I used neem oil on it once a few weeks ago. Not sure if itâs a pest or what. Any idea?
Can anyone tell me whatâs going on with my peace Lily? I canât find a similar image anywhere and Iâm not sure what this is. I got this plant discounted about 6 months ago. I recovered it but it has brown spots and brown/yellow edges. Itâs flowered twice and new leaves are coming in. The flowers look great, the new leaves have brown tips. I have really hard water here and didnât realize until a new treubii moonlight died. Could that cause these odd speckles?
Need some help figuring out whatâs going on with my Dragonfruit. A little under a year now, itâs been showing this hard, sometimes orangey substance. Over time, it hardens the ends but Iâve been noticing lately that some of the Dragonfruit is now rotting and getting soft and mushy. Iâve had this plant going on for almost 2 years now. It was growing really nicely and healthy up until maybe last summer when I noticed this. Have asked around and done some research but canât really seem to pin down what it is. Have it on a fungicide treatment at the moment but hasnât really done any progress and maybe made it worse. Really donât want to have to get rid of it or throw it away, so appreciate any help
One of my ZZâs has dramatically yellowing leaves, and several others have mildly yellowing - thinking it is connected to low light in winter since I use a water meter to make sure I donât overwater? Also contemplating a connection to temperature as the home doesnât have central heating (it can get cold inside, but doesnât drop below 50 even at the coldest). Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, thank you in advance!
Hello everyone!! Had this app for ages but never participated in the forums, glad to see a group dedicated to pests and problems i guess iâll be here more often đ I noticed this little white worm earlier in my tomato plant soil⊠white/translucent body with a brownish/red head. Are these healthy worms or should I be concerned? If they are damagingâŠ. how can I get rid of them? FYI, the photo of the fruits are purely just to showcase how beautiful they are. No signs of worms on the actual fruits/leaves đ„č Thanks yâall!
This plant has had it rough since I got her. 3/4 of her trunks died and had to be removed after we moved to a new apartment and i was pretty neglectful during the moving time period. Recently Iâve been a lot more attentive, following plantaâs schedule and for a while she was doing a lot better with new growth. This week, however, a couple days after watering with fertilizer she started dropping leaves. Is she a goner? đ„ș
