I bought this Colocasia Coffee Cups (I think đ) with my partner on a recent trip. I want to switch it over to a leca semi-hydro system.
I think itâs currently potted in soil or peat??? Roots show sign of mold on top and a few aerial roots look black. I was so happy to see that the roots in the pot were still healthy after 3 weeks in my care.
Any tips on keeping this guy alive and if I should switch to semi-hydro as a newbie. Thank you đ±

Lesson time đ As some are aware, fiddle figs are finicky little buggers⊠and I have a bad habit of trying to rescue them đ This sweet girl has pushed out some new leaves, and the red spots freaked me out! Turns out itâs edema from there being more water than the leaves can absorb, so some plant cells burst. As an RN, I am fascinated by this, but I digress đ€Ș with consistent watering, the leaves can heal themselves. Wish me luck!

Hello again guys!!! Last night I realized Melâs soil was really dark so I check her out and the pot had at least 2 inches of settled water in the bottomđŹ so I took her out and left her in the plastic pot with holes, sitting atop a towel to hep absorb. Roots look okay to me for now but Iâm crazy worried! Any tips?!

FUNGUS GNATS:
FGs can lay up to 200 eggs per day and each FG may live 28 days, most of the population exist at varying stages of maturity in the soil.
So I like to throw the current/infested soil away. Disinfect/wash the pot. Mix âNeem Leaf Powderâ and âMosquito Bitsâ in with new soil and repot affected plant . Lightly spray foliage and top soil with âLemongrass Plant Pest Sprayâ as directed.
**Disclaimer: This is my best advice based on years of personal experience balancing resolution of the fungus gnat infestation with the least harm/damage to my plants. I am not-nor do I claim to be-an expert** Good Luck! đ

SO, lastly! It has been repotted and looks amazing.
*UPDATE* To ensure I was able to save my ZZ, I repotted some of the smaller stalks on its own but the main ones are still massive! Still looking for an 8 inch at this point đ
My ZZ plant came in a 6 inch pot, and the leaves started changing color. Come to find out it was root bound; I need to repot it because the roots are extremely overgrown. What size should I get? I know the rule of thumb is an inch but would 10 be too much?

Ok guys, back to the umbrella plant. Iâve considered so many issues (scale, powdery mildew, sooty black mold, thrips, mealy bugs, spider mites⊠the app says itâs a watering issue and this seems way more complex)
Help/thoughts? Updated photos with better light.
Symptoms:
-deformed and/or shriveled leaves with black discoloration on the bottoms
-white and/or brown powder coating on leaves
-sap spots on leaves
-warped new growth

My prayer plant seems half healthy, half dead - flowering and sprouting new leaves but also has a lot of shriveled brown ones - what might be the cause?

On my pearls of jade pathos, the leaves that are in the center of the pot are white and green but as it grows out the leaves are green and a yellowish white. Is this related to lack of light and that is why the other leaves are yellow?

this is a moon valley pilea. it had an infestation of thrips that ruined a lot of older leaves; they have since been trimmed off and the stems have been washed and treated with neem oil. itâs been mad for a while, but it now growing some baby leaves. however, there is a now white spot on the top of one of the stalks. i donât know what this is? at first i was scared it may be the start of mealy bugs but i donât really think thatâs what it is. iâve never had mealy bugs before, though, so can someone help identify what this is and if i need to do something about it?

Ahhh đ± she got spider mites!! After losing 50% of her foliage (đ„Čâčïž), and pruning the rest of the damage, with a nice cold water shower and treatment, hope for the best for me!! She was so full of life and color and now looks so sad đ I hopefully caught it in time though.
