I went away for a week and my AC broke while i was away and it was 90 degrees in the house. Some plants were dead. Others were looking perched with yellow, curling leaves, drooping stems, some leaves were brittle and brown. I removed some of the dead leaves, completely yellow leaves and threw away some that could not be saved. I think they were heat shocked and dried out for the extreme heat. Any luck saving any of these?
I've been away for a few days and come back to find my Curly White looking like this on its newest leaves. It looks like pollen, definitely not spider mites - no webbing or movement. The plant looks happy like normal, just not experienced this before to know what it potentially is. Any help would be appreciated! ✌️
I saw a thrip on my dieffenbachia tonight. So after a slight nervous breakdown, I showered the plant, used neem oil and the systemic granules in the soil. Also isolated the plant. Now I’ve added granules to all surrounding plants and sprayed with Neem oil. Any other suggestions?
Help!! My money tree leaves are droopy after repotting it. I had to repot it due to the old pot being too big and the soil would stay too wet near the roots. Help me get her happy!
Okay is it normal for impatient blooms to fall every few days? It’s annoying and a lot of maintenance 🤪
Help! My drosera has steeply decreased in health, and Ive only bought it a couple of weeks ago. The 3 plant one is from right after I bought it, the 2 plant one is how it currently looks. Lots of dew is gone and the leaves seem to be drying up. I keep them in a room that averages 70 degrees Fahrenheit and put them by a window + 8 hour grow lights a couple inches above, and I water them with distilled water I buy in gallons from the store, what am I doing wrong? Is it the humidity? My room ranges from 50% to 60% humid

Can anyone explain what this is and if there’s a way to prevent it? I’ve had my houseplants for many years but only recently switched over to using terracotta pots instead of plastic. I’ve been almost consistently been getting this mold-like slimy layer on the outside of the pot. I’ve tried wiping it away but it just comes back. It doesn’t seem to be affecting my plants health at all, just a cosmetic issue.
Does anyone know what the small white circles are in the pot? I don’t feel that it’s a pest as the plant is growing rapidly and is very happy. Ai said possibly fungal growth? Something I should be concerned about? Have never seen before. Debating on repotting as the plant is drying out quickly between watering. Thoughts?
Dear plant diary, My orchid hates me 100%. Mold on roots, leaves are squishy, root rot. Sincerely-PLANTS!!🪴🌱
Is this fungus? I’ve never had a plant do this before so I’m unsure what I’m looking at. The soil has good drainage, lighting seems just fine for it since it’s already growing a new leaf, and it isn’t wilting. But these weird spots are popping up and I’m worried.
Please tell me this isn’t what I think it is.. 😞
I just got this Bougainvillea on Saturday and the leaves are curling up. I haven’t even potted it yet! I’ve been watering every day. Any ideas on why it’s unhappy?
I bought this beautiful Alocasia frydek about a month ago. I haven’t changed it from its original pot yet. I had a few leaves yellow that I cut off. All the leaves seem to be healthy now and I’m even having new leaves unfurl. A lot of my leaves are drooping now. I’m nervous that the drooping indicates poor health, especially since when I bought it, all the stems were ramrod straight. Could it be that the leaves are just getting big/heavy? Or are there causes for concern? Would love to hear any helpful tips for caring for this plant and keeping it healthy. Thanks!
How in the world do I keep getting fungus gnats??? I water my plants once a week, and only if the soil is dry which happens pretty quickly because I have my plants mostly in direct to indirect bright sunlight. I’ve dried all my plants out for at least a month to the point i accidentally killed off a few of my plants. It’s been a month of me returning to my regular watering schedule and yet again I’m dealing with them. Would switching to bottom watering help after replacing all my soil? :(
I HAVE THRIPS. Help!! New plantie and one of my babies has thrips. I have isolated it and another I’m suspicious of in my spare bathroom with a grow light, showered, sprayed with a plant soap, and watered with a pesticide (unable to get systemic granules in Canada). How long should I continue to treat for and keep in isolation? I have a lot of plants.. Should I just cut my losses? I would hate it if they spread and terrified they already could have as there was mature adults on the Scindapuss.. Any advice appreciated.
Hi guys n gals, desert rose problem. It's getting cooler here with less sunlight and this has been slowly dropping leaves at the top of the plant (it's nearly 5ft tall) but has healthy green leaves on bottom 1/3. It currently has 5 or 6 seed pods and two others have split to give me some wonderful seeds. I plan to move it to a warmer location soon, watering is the same and it had a lick of 1/2 strength liquid fert about a month ago. This is the first time I've seen these spots. Any ideas? TIA...
Okay, so I’ve had this plant for about 2 months . It is “supposed” to be a full sun plant … but something is wrong with it . The leaves are turning back I have tried cutting them down keeping out of sun , neem oil , watering more and less… and I don’t know .. please help . It’s a bamboo type .
Well…I made my first big plant parent mistake. I learned after cutting off what I thought were corms that these babies actually have tuberous roots. The Mandarin Spider plants were already rescued projects that needed some love but the rattlesnake Calathea was super healthy. Any suggestions for helping them through losing a big part of their root system??
I was so excited that this plant has been growing and thriving since I brought it home but I am extremely worried about the spider mites. I just waterboarded the leaves under the faucet in the sink so I hope that helps. It’s been isolated since I took it home months ago but I did notice a marigold I took home a few weeks ago had mites. It was outside so I guess I must have transferred the mites on a watering day 😔 I have neem oil and I’ll get Castile soap on Saturday so I can make a spray to eradicate the mites. Just found some on my fiddle leaf fig plant as well so I am very upset.
