Plant Lives Matter
Hey yâall, I have this dendrobium orchid that overall seems healthy if maybe a bit over-sunned. Long story short, this was intended to be a short term placement for it during some home improvements weâre doing, so eventually it will go back to its home with less light. In the meantime, it has developed this, but Iâm not sure if itâs some sort of pest or a sign of too much light. Or maybe itâs part of its natural cycle. Those black spots are hard, not scraping off. Canât seem to find anything about this online. Any experienced orchid growers know? I know orchids are sensitive, so I donât want to make any further changes to its environment unless I have to.

Please help! I just got this pinky symphony caladium from a well know nursery in my area and itâs been about two weeks and these mushy brown spots are taking over the pink leaves. Her green leaves donât have an issue. Sheâs also growing new leaves, both pink and green.
Sheâs in a room with gentle indirect light, the soil is moist, it has a pebble tray.
Iâve applied neem to the affected area and it got worse over night!
What do I doooo?? Sheâs my new favorite and Iâm so proud of her but sheâs very sad :(

Hi guys. My Persian Ivy isnât doing well. Her leaves look limp. Itâs in a porcelain pot with drainage but I believe the pot is the reason it takes a while to dry out. I think thereâs root rot from consistently overly wet soil. How do I fix this ?
I was considering removing it from the soil to inspect and cut the damaged roots then put it to stand in a glass of water
Is that a bad idea?
Please let me know the best type of soil I should get for this plant. Iâm planning to move it to a terracotta pot

So I think I I have a gnat infestation! I changed the pot/soil of her plant I thought was giving me the most problems. I water with hydrogen peroxide mixed in sometimes, and I sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth on the surface (very thick to cover). The diatomaceous earth gets soggy once wet so I feel it helps the gnats in the long run. I try to keeps fresh dry layer on top. I also bottom water the plants that I can. I use the yellow sticky traps as well. I just canât seem to get rid of them. I even bought gnat catching machine, which barely works! Iâm so sick of the gnats!! HELP ME PLEASE!! đ€Šđœââïžđ

I am finding so many gnats around my apartment and in my plants which is slowly killing them. Or at least I think so. I purchased organic cinnamon and spread around in all my plants soil. All week, Iâve been spraying all the plants with hydrogen peroxide mixed with water and that hasnât helped. If the cinnamon doesnât work, what can I do to get rid of these gnats or at least get them to leave my plants alone. I also have little bowls of apple cider vinegar and dish soup sitting out in a few different spots around my apartment. TIA!

My jade plant is getting what looks like scales..I think itâs because my plants are stationed near a vent (only place available to have them)..my question is, if the air is too dry can I mist the jade? I know itâs like a succulent so Iâm worried about rotting. I donât know how else to fix the issue! Any recommendations? Also that yellow leaf completely broke off and was very wrinkled. Iâve been sticking to Plantaâs care routine instructions and havenât watered outside of what it tells me. But when I scan it in the app, it says could be lack of drainage (the pot has drainage so thatâs not it). Or it says overwatering, but itâs been almost 7 days since the last watering. Any ideas? Only thing I can think is that maybe my my grow light put it in shock and the air dried it out. Idk though. đ€·đŒââïž
