Hi there! I've been plant sitting for my mom in laws friend and I have no idea what happened! We brought this bad boy to my apartment from her house and he is just not having it. It lost most of his leaves within a month( they used to go all the way up the stalk) , but he seems to have new growth at the same time. Was it just a shock to it's system having to go on a long journey (was probably a 3 hour drive) or is it something I'm doing? I also cannot remember what the plant is called. Thank you in advance friends!

Looking for some advice on this! I got two beautiful Gardenia plants early this summer and took great care of them. They thrived outdoors, blooming multiple times throughout the season. However, ever since I brought them indoors to protect them from Canada’s harsh winter weather, they seem to be slowly dying. I’ve tried moving them to different spots indoors and continued with the same care routine, watering regularly without making any major changes—aside from bringing them inside, of course. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Ok so we were out of power from Thanksgiving until December 16. Our meter box had exploded while making dinner. It was bitterly cold in Ohio during those couple weeks. I had a kerosene heater to help keep my plants warm but very little light. I lost many many plants. Including my Thai constellation. I’ve come to the realization that many of the ones I lost will not come back. I’ve cut them to the soil and kept them. I will check on them at spring. But is there a way to save or help my Zeg? Zeg is his name. I don’t know his scientific name lol. Thank you

I have some indoor plants. Several different kinds. I seem to have plant gnats. I thought it was fruit flies but they are coming from my plants. My daughter told me to order diatomaceous earth and sticky yellow things to put in them. It comes today. Is this correct?

I typically pretty set on caring for Alocasia’s but- I just moved back home to Florida & my alocasia that I bought here (in Florida, about 8 weeks ago) and recently the foliage has been doing this one by one. i assume root rot. My Other alocasia’s are fine and keeping the soil from being completely dried out Does Great with them all but Maybe since i bought this here and because of our Hot weather its used to drying out? Ive never Had a plant literally Melt away like this haha

Hey everyone, my cactus developed these spot after I transported it to my house. Ar first I thought it was maybe because it needed more light so I moved him into my sunny kitchen. But the spots haven't gone away, does anyone know what could be wrong with my plant?

After flowering, my flame sword has started to die. It's grown these two solid live structures of leaves from it's main body that I suspect may be pups. However, since their from the main body I can't be sure. Is there any way I can check? Another problem is that they are both growing at an angle with one groing with a 90° bend in it. Can I fix this somehow? Any help would be amazing.

Guys, I found a yellow sac spider sitting on one of my Chinese Evergreen leaves. I removed it but I'm so worried about more being somewhere. Anyone have any advice or reassurance that there aren't any more around? Currently looking for sacs but can't find any. Pls help :(

I don’t know what’s going on with my orchid! It started turning yellow after it dropped its flowers. I was planning on repotting it as it’s still in a nursing pot, could it be that it’s yellowing because of that? Or something else?

I have had my elephant bush bonsai for a few years but recently saw black spots on some of the leaves. Does anyone know these are? They are literally perfect circles!

Hi all! I’m wondering whether my plant is acclimating to the new water solution or telling me that it hates it already???🥴 There was quite a bit of algae in the container. I washed and rinsed the roots & container. I’ve been using fish tank water treatment for my houseplants in soil and they LOVE it. I figured I’d try with this beauty. Although the green is less apparent, there’s a brownish tint. So…. Any thoughts or science you can give would be so appreciated!

Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄 I’m a new plant owner and recently bought a Nerve Plant from Home Depot on December 1st. I repotted it the same day using their potting mix. I’ve been watering it once a week, following the recommendations from this plant care app. I live in San Jose, CA, and it’s been pretty gloomy lately with very little sunlight. Could this lack of sunlight be affecting my plant? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Bought this string of hearts yesterday and it’s an absolute disaster. It’s beautiful, but still a disaster. I’ve had the variegated version for a while and managed to untangle the whole thing… but this is on a different level. I got down to the roots and discovered it was multiple string of hearts plants and all of their roots were tangled as well. I gave it a root washing with distilled water and tried to gently do what I could without damaging everything. After 3 hours I’m giving up. This is what it looks like now. Is there anything I can do? Anyone at a plant store who helps people with this? Any tools designed to detangle these things? Or should I just admit defeat 😭
