This is my second polkadot plant (absolutely murdered my last one) I have noooo idea what I’m doing wrong the pot I have it in has drainage and I only water it when the top of the soil is dry. If anyone has advice that would be greatly appreciated 😭 ( I’m very new at plants and have no idea what’s wrong)

How do I get rid of mold in my plant pots?!? It keeps popping up in my succulent pots, never on the plants themselves, just on the soil surrounding. Sometimes the plants seem perfectly happy coexisting, other times it happens when they’re sick. It’s light gray colored and fuzzy. I’m allergic to mold and have had problems with it in my room in the past. How can I treat this without killing my plants too?

My poor plant has lost all its leaves and the last one is discolored…. I’ve been watering it as per the schedule on planta and it’s in its correct light conditions. This plant did come to me originally with flies, and thought I’d managed to get rid of them. Could they be the problem?? Thanks in advance for any help!

So, some of my avacados leaves have dried up, now one of the stalks are bare. I took off all the crispy, dried leaves off but how do I prevent this in the future?

Gentle readers: I have discovered a mealy bug on my Florida Ghost. Then discovered small white areas that are suspect on a Ficus Tinneke which is rather large in the same room, and upstairs on a seven foot tall Ficus Audrey and my Burle Marx philodendron. I wouldn’t call it an infestation because I keep an eye on them and it’s early stages but let’s just say the little jerks are trying to take up housekeeping. I sprayed the Tinneke yesterday and they still moved in only on a new leaf that showed up overnight. I guess that one was fresh and didn’t taste bad? It’s just enough to say hi we’re here and trying to invade and no visible damage. I sprayed insecticidal soap on the affected plants and quarantined them and the large ones I have no choice other than Bonide systemic. Please share cheerful stories of how you beat pests. Believe it or not I’ve never had this issue.

Looking for advice! 🪴 My philodendron verrucosum hasn’t really rooted into its moss pole and has really large internodal spacing (see pics). There are a few aerial roots visible in the pole from the most recent leaves. I’m keen to keep maturing it and reduce the internodal spacing. I’m not sure where I’m going wrong, it grows like hell! The leaves were getting significantly larger but has plateaued recently. The moss pole is kept moist, the pole isn’t overly compact with moss, i wrapped cling film around the aerial roots to reduce the risk of them drying out and encourage rooting, and it has until very recently lived under a grow light (now facing a south facing window). I don’t really want to extend the moss pole if it will just continue to remain leggy. I’m torn whether to chop and try again with the top cutting (and risk it dying since it won’t have soil roots and only a few aerial roots) or extend the pole and remain hopeful. Any advice helpful thanks! Pics attached. 🙏 🌱

I’ve had this plant for years but back in winter it got sick and I’ve done everything this app has suggested. You can see all the new growth but even the new growth leaves turn edges brown. Old leaves are yellowing. Repotted back in March. Is it time just to give up on it?

This is a desert rose. I have lots of experience with plants, but this one confuses me! It likes to drops leaves. It dropped all leaves except for maybe 4 this winter. I figured it was too cold, so I moved it farther away from the chilly window. I think it’s maybe a watering issue? I let it go completely dry before watering again. I don’t think it’s a light issue. It’s has always gotten at least 6 hours of direct light -whether from the sun or a grow light. Now it looks good after regrowing leaves from the winter drop. But I recently watered it and it dropped 8 more leaves! The leaves turn completely yellow and dry before dropping. Are these just really fussy plants or am I missing something?

Hi can anyone help identify what this clear and white crusty residue is on my Swiss cheese plant? I found armored scales on a nearby plant so I am suspicious that they may have caused this but I cannot find a single scale on this plant so I am confused. It is most concentrated on new growth. I use filtered/chlorine free water and this doesn’t look like guttation or mold. Any advice is appreciated!

Calathea help please! My calatheas don’t seem entirely happy with me. I’m getting the occasional yellow leaf from some of them. And multiple have leaves that are under formed and have really thin spots. And then one has what maybe looks like scorch on its leaves. The mix I use is soil+bark+perlite+peat They’re in a north facing window supplemented by grow lights. I try to let them dry out a bit but not too much. Some don’t ever dry out at all. I use a small amount of fertilizer every time I water and only distilled/filtered water Any and all help is appreciated!

Need help with this watermelon peperomia. I bought her about a month ago at a plant store’s annual sale. She has been dropping leaves. I had her hanging in a screened porch area where she probably wasn’t getting enough sun. And I think I was overwatering her. I have moved her indoors to an area of partial sun. She was hanging outside in the sun at the store but I thought these didn’t need full sun. She is still in her original pot and soil. What can I do for her?

Hi! I've got thrips 😭. And it looks like they're pretty widespread. I have a couple of questions that hopefully aren't too obvious. First is App related. Can I mark all my plants as sick in one go? I have too many plants to be going through each one by one diagnosing. I guess I can skip it as I have the schedule for a couple of plants, but for accuracy of recovery, it would be ideal to attach a blanket filter (if you will) in the app. 2nd, I'm wondering if some plants are more resistant, or less favoured by the Thrips? Whilst some plants withered and does in days, my monstera, elephant ear, and philodendron seem like they have been affected, but only a little, and look much more likely to pull through? 3rd. I'm a bit anchor of spraying my propagating plants with strong pesticide? Will they be OK? (monstera and philodendron in water, with happy roots currently). Thanks for your time and feedback! Going to go give them all a shower and a good spray now!

Hey guys! First time plant dad and as the saying goes, “The first one is always the hardest “! I have a Croton Petra and I’m kinda confused on whether I over watered my plant or if there’s thrips. Planta diagnosed the condition as thrips and I’m not so sure after viewing some of the comments in this thread. Here is the picture of how it looked earlier today before three leaves fell off. Anyone know what’s going on? I also sprayed it with neem oil just in case it was thrips.

So this is my first time treating one of my plants. She has aphids per the app diagnosis and the app said to wash her down with either soapy water or use neem oil? Has anyone had success with this? I’ve already quarantine her so hopefully none of the others get it too.
