Hi all! I recently got a “Jumbo Alocasia” from Trader Joe’s that I believe is an Alocasia California. It had some yellow leaves when I got it and was incredibly root bound. So on a repotting day, I upgraded the soil to something more nutrient rich (Fox Farm Ocean Forest) and well draining (Perlite, Coco Coir, Orchid Bark) and gave it a pot that was two inches bigger (10 inches). I watered it immediately to help it transition. However, in the past few days the weirdest thing has happened! The leaves are yellowing but maintaining a green polka dot appearance. I’ve never seen anything like it. Is it a sign of transplant shock or overwatering? Possibly fungus? Any insight would be appreciated so I can help my plant recover! Thanks! 💙

These little white spots suddenly appeared in my prayer plant soil, is this bad?

Received this money tree about three weeks ago. Treated it and its been sitting in quarantine for about three weeks. I started noticing these spots. I am wondering if its because I treated it more than once, are these old leaves that I should chop or should I be worried about something else? I noticed that a piece of the tree fell off at the bottom. I appreciate the help.

I need help with my aloe. He's gotten huge recently and very top heavy. He was in a hanging macrame basket near a frosted window. This last time I watered him I realized he was using the macrame for support and couldn't stay standing on his own as well as his leaves dropping. They are firm except where they are bent and there are a few at the base that are brown/shriveled. I'm new to the app and need help 🤞🏻 I'm thinking it's maybe not getting enough light? Should I repot? Should I cut down? Help 🙌🏻

Hi everyone! So sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings with this photo but my poor Ficus needs some love and I’ve just been having the toughest go with him! Leaves have been falling for months…he’s got a sprout going but the big leaves are brown and droopy. Any suggestions would be great! He’s about 3 feet from a window in my office that gets a lot of sun throughout the day

My jasmine plant isn’t doing so hot. There are spots on the leaves that look like burns and there’s a brown crusty substance on the stems. Any ideas?

We’ve been following all of Planta’s guidelines re: light, watering, and fertilizer, but this plant recently developed discoloration at the leaf tips and some other spots. Welcome any and all suggestions!

I don’t have a photo to share but I can offer a description- tiny flying black things that resemble gnats. Present when soil is wet. I let the soil dry out but the instant I add water a few start flying out from the soil I tried Neem oil once on a plant and it died shortly after. Maybe user error?

Please help! Why are my plants leaves looking like this? Should they be cut off, or what’s the best plan of action? Thanks in advance!

Have a friend with this southern sword fern, it’s watered but that’s where the care stops. I cleaned it up after I took this picture, and she really wants to help it out a little. I really don’t think it has a disease or anything, I just think it needs a change in care. She basically just wants it more lush. I tried suggesting a few things she can do with it but she said doesn’t have enough time. Advice? Thanks! 😁

Hello fellow plant people! I had a question. At what temperatures can a plant start getting frost damage? I have a couple plants near my rear door and as it’s getting chillier out, I’m worried that they’ll be damaged but they get great light there. Currently the lows that the plants are experiencing are 40s+. Should I move them now or is it safe until temps go lower?

Please help, this is my first encounter with mealy bugs! Any tips and suggestions are appreciated! Enjoy the scary slideshow 🫣 This monstera is my favorite plant (don’t tell my pothos collection) and I found a mealy bug! 😭 I checked the front and back of all of the leaves. I dropped 91% Isopropyl Alcohol down the stalk 😅, where each leaf meets the stem, and wiped anything white off each leaf with an alcohol damp paper towel. Before I noticed the pest tonight, I set up a humidifier for the tips of a few leaves that started yellowing. Should I turn the humidifier off until I’m sure the pests are gone or does it not matter?
