Hi everyone! I recently got succulent from a friend’s house, where it was on a fully shaded porch and received pretty much no care. It looked pretty much just like this when I got it. Succulents are not my forte, but even I can tell this isn’t looking good. I repotted it into fox farm potting soil when I got it, and gave it a good watering. The old soil was completely dry and had basically turned to dust. However, about two days later the leaves feel mushy. I have now put it in completely dry soil. It’s in a south facing window in a climate that stays above 45°, even at night. I’m thinking this potting soil is too dense, and it might need to be in a different type of pot? At this point I can’t tell if I’ve messed with it too much - Is there any hope for this plant? ***update: thank you for the help everyone! I am going to give a succulent potting mix a try and see if that helps!

What’s wrong with my cactus? I bought this in early Decemver then repotted it in a welldraining soil without watering it. I watered this less than a week ago when the soil checked out as dry all the way to the bottom. I noticed the tips are browing. Idk what I’m doing wrong 😭

Ive been battling mealy bugs for 6 months, and I cant seem to get them to go away, I live in a very small town and cant really order much online bc im still in high-school so jobs are extremely hard to get, is there anything I can get from places like walmart, tractor supply, etc? Ive been using Neem Oil and Garden Safe insecticidal soap, diluted alcohol spray and repotting the infected, but they just come back and im really at a loss on what to do, i dont want to have to completely restart.

I am an inexperienced string succulent parent. I’ve had this String of Pearls for a year and I haven’t noticed the puckering in the past. Could this be an indication of a watering imbalance? Thank you in advance 🪴

I got this purple passion plant around new years and she was doing really well until the last week or two. She was getting droopy, so I (bottom) watered her and she perked right up. But now she’s worse than ever and still moist. Pic below

Hello, so I have two polka dot plants and both aren’t doing well. I don’t know what’s wrong with them. The leaves get really dry and it doesn’t help when I water them and wait. This is the before and after. I don’t know if it’s because it’s winter and it’s too cold in my room but all my other plants are doing fine. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks.

Help!!!! Can somebody help me, please? Idk what to do with these bugs anymore. I believe it’s called mealybug, I’ve tried so many things and it keeps coming back and it’s now spreading to other plants. It started with 2 plants and I isolated them, but the plants that are in the area where the 2 plants used to be are now getting bugs too. I already used water and soap, then rubbing alcohol with water, I also got neem oil. I gave the plant a “shower”, I wiped and sprayed the leaves but those bugs keep coming back and it’s killing the leaves little by little. Any advice??

My elephant bush has been dropping leaves since late October. She used to be outside all day in the summer, but when it started to get colder I put her inside. She also has these brownish spots on a lot of her leaves, I’m not sure why? I was thinking I might have over watered her and I wanted to check her roots so I repotted her in a new type of soil. Her roots seemed fine, and the old soil was still pretty wet at the very bottom when her water schedule came up. I haven’t watered her yet, and now some of her leaves are starting to wrinkle. I’ve heard you aren’t supposed to water them at all in the winter but I’m not so sure. Her pot does have a drainage hole and she does get light from my window, but maybe not enough? Full sun doesn’t come through my window. Maybe she’s also in shock idk. Any thoughts?

I accidentally forgot to bring my sage inside to protect it from the freezing temperatures of Phoenix Arizona right now and when I rushed to check on them, one of the leaves were- drying up? I’m not sure but it looks a little shriveled. My mom figured it was from the cold but I’m not sure. Anyone know what’s happening?

Hi all. So I’ve had this spider plant for a while and she’s just not looking too pretty. Has anybody pruned all the way down and started fresh? Any suggestions?

Hello guys, My polka dot begonia that i bought a couple of weeks ago isn’t doing well. I water it regularly, and it's next to the window. But it has been freezing in Vancouver around -10 lately, so my house temp is around 21 and maybe even colder next to the window, and it’s been really gloomy. The leaves are getting dry, and they’re losing their colours. Is there a way I can save this plant? What should I do? Thank you!

Hi there. I’d welcome some feedback on my Majestic Palm. I’ve had her for a few years and she’s always been very happy. In the summer I move her outside where she gets lots of direct sun (I’m in Atlanta). In the cooler months she lives in this south facing window. Over the last couple of months her leaves have turned brown and crispy. I removed some but they continue to brown. I mist it every other day. It’s not near a heater. I water as often as Planta tells me too (every couple of weeks) however the soil does feel pretty dry. I added some more potting soil with peat moss a couple months ago and that seems like it might have been the catalyst. Any ideas?

Hi all, Does anyone have experience treating new plants empirically with a pesticide or fungicide while in quarantine? The company Arber specifically recommends some of their products for this purpose. Interestingly, their products have notably different ingredients (heat killed bacteria) than most. Many of us use a variety of different Neem, alcohol, or Soap dilutions for treatment, but live found little evidence to support empiric treatment on receipt of a new plant. Thoughts?

Hi! Can anyone help me figure out what’s going wrong with my money tree? I’ve lost leaves on all but one branch and hope I can still save it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
