I got this Jelly Bean about a year ago at a farmers market. It was maybe 1” tall when I got it and was in a 5” pot with 7 other plants that shouldn’t have been together so I separated them. Anyways, I’ve seen pictures of the Jelly Bean having beautiful red tips but mine is so faded and has barely grown in a year. Is there anything I should be doing to help this guy?

Hi all, my rubber tree has spider mites! Can anyone advise on what has worked well to get rid of them? I’ve isolated it and plan on picking up neem oil, but I’m open to other suggestions.
Thanks!

So, my dill for my aerogarden has been not so good. I don’t know what is going on, but I think it may be root rot. Do I just keep it in a separate container so it doesn’t spread?
Hiya!
Thrips! Everyone’s nemesis and so easy to miss. I found a great video on You Tube “the life cycle of thrips” on the Koppert channel. I’m guessing thrips damage is so often overlooked by us all because these little buggers are almost impossible to see until they’re full grown adults. By then they’ve laid hundreds of eggs inside the tissue of our plants. The damage caused by them is varied. 🥴

My desert rose has been slowing dropping its leaves and i can’t figure out why. They get these weird brown spots then shrivel up and drop. And the bulb has just recently gotten slightly squishy. I don’t think it’s overwatered and it’s definitely not getting too little sun.
Any ideas?

Anyone know what’s up with my money tree?
The past few months she has been turning yellow and dropping all its leaves. The pot it was in was too small, so I repotted her and put out a bunch of new shoots in response, but is still dropping leaves (although at a slower rate). It seems like she wants to get rid of all old growth. She was doing so well until October when she stopped growing completely then started dropping leaves.
Any help would be appreciated!
I just moved so I now have her a foot below a grow light in a northern corner. She used to be a couple feet from a southern window with plenty of sun.

Help my Stripped Calathea!
I got my Calathea in December as a graduation gift. It was already is bad shape when I received it and I’ve been working to revive her as I know these plants are sensitive. She is in a self watering pot with tropical plant soil. I only water it with melted room temperature snow water for now, and will be watering with rainwater as we get into spring. Through the environment change and repot she was doing okay, stable but not thriving. In the last 2 weeks she has gotten a lot crispier. The areas around the crispy edges are yellow, and it keeps progressing. She currently sits in my west facing bathroom windowsill, receiving ~3 hrs of direct light and lots of indirect light. The environment is relatively humid, with 1-2 showers a day. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to better care/ revive her! Thanks! 😁

I’ve struggled with my calathea orbifolia ever since bringing them home last August. I finally had them stable and in good health. Recently though I’ve noticed one has yellow/brown spots on 2 leaves and the other one has a large dry section that continues to grow bigger on the leaf.
Does anyone know the cause of this or what I can do?
I use filtered and purified drinking water on my plants.
It’s currently 40% humidity in here. Typically though it’s usually between 40%-50% in the room.

I was running an errand today, and the pharmacy (of all places) was selling bonsai—all five were wild coffee plants, and all were in a pitiful state. I bought the two that were closest to giving up, see pic, removed the dead and dying leaves, took them out of the tin pot so they can get some air through the nursery pot. And I watered them—I’m pretty sure they’d been sitting there for a week without any water. Now they’re in a sunny spot and I’m planning to repot them when they’re stronger, but I’m not sure whether to use bonsai potting mix (which would be appropriate for the size) or regular potting soil with extra perlite. Right now they’re sitting in some kind of soil that’s as hard as cement, even after watering. Any advice? 🙏🏼

This is my ugly little houseleek haha. When I bought it a year or so ago it was cute. I didn’t know much about it or how it would grow. Is this normal? Should I be doing something differently?

Anyone have experience with beneficial bugs like lacewings for example? I have a lot of plants and I’m at the point where I really don’t want to deal with pests too much. Mostly just not very good with treating them
Debating about ordering lacewing larvae. So…
Does anyone have experience with lacewing or other beneficial bugs?
If so, how difficult is “applying” them to the plants (I.e. placing them on the plants in a safe and effective manner)?
Are they effective?
Are they more preventative? Treatment option for current infestations? Or can they function as both?
Are they bothersome? All of my plants are indoor plants and a good chunk of them are in my room. Managed to take care of a gnat problem fairly well but when the gnat problem was bad…it was REALLY annoying
If anyone recommends them, any recommendations for where to buy them from?
Thanks everyone! Sorry for the long post

Hi. I’ve had this dieffenbacchia for a year. It did great outside in the spring and summer but it’s been a struggle since I brought it inside. It was so full and beautiful previously. I’ve cut back the yellowed leaves as I will after this photo. I used neem oil on it once a few weeks ago. Not sure if it’s a pest or what. Any idea?

Can anyone tell me what’s going on with my peace Lily? I can’t find a similar image anywhere and I’m not sure what this is.
I got this plant discounted about 6 months ago. I recovered it but it has brown spots and brown/yellow edges. It’s flowered twice and new leaves are coming in. The flowers look great, the new leaves have brown tips.
I have really hard water here and didn’t realize until a new treubii moonlight died. Could that cause these odd speckles?

Need some help figuring out what’s going on with my Dragonfruit. A little under a year now, it’s been showing this hard, sometimes orangey substance. Over time, it hardens the ends but I’ve been noticing lately that some of the Dragonfruit is now rotting and getting soft and mushy. I’ve had this plant going on for almost 2 years now. It was growing really nicely and healthy up until maybe last summer when I noticed this. Have asked around and done some research but can’t really seem to pin down what it is. Have it on a fungicide treatment at the moment but hasn’t really done any progress and maybe made it worse.
Really don’t want to have to get rid of it or throw it away, so appreciate any help

One of my ZZ’s has dramatically yellowing leaves, and several others have mildly yellowing - thinking it is connected to low light in winter since I use a water meter to make sure I don’t overwater?
Also contemplating a connection to temperature as the home doesn’t have central heating (it can get cold inside, but doesn’t drop below 50 even at the coldest).
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, thank you in advance!

Hello everyone!! Had this app for ages but never participated in the forums, glad to see a group dedicated to pests and problems i guess i’ll be here more often 😂
I noticed this little white worm earlier in my tomato plant soil… white/translucent body with a brownish/red head. Are these healthy worms or should I be concerned? If they are damaging…. how can I get rid of them?
FYI, the photo of the fruits are purely just to showcase how beautiful they are. No signs of worms on the actual fruits/leaves 🥹
Thanks y’all!
