I’m sad, friends. This tea plant has dropped all its leaves and I trimmed away extra branches. I’m not sure if it’s dead or dormant for the cold months. Looks pretty dead. šŸ˜ž For anyone who’s cared for tea plants, what do you do to keep them thriving? What temps do you keep them at, what kind of light situation, what sort of fertilizer, what seasonal changes do you make? I’ve been trying for years and reading up on blogs for Camellia Sinensis Sinensis care and have just not had any luck keeping them alive. Any advice is appreciated either for this tea plant if it deigns to return in the Spring, or for the next tea plant I order.

Got this plant a couple days ago as a birthday gift, any care tips? I know this plant specifically dies after blooming and I cut off some of the more deader leaves. It also has some pups growing at the base there. No clue if this is after blooming or from something else

Hey all, I have had this plant for a year, I’m not sure how to care for it, I follow the guides in planta but it’s not seeming to keep leaves. Is that a normal thing? It’s flowered and I got those clipped off after a while so it can focus on growing but it’s just sad looking.. I need help. It’s leaves dry up and get crispy so I’m worried I’m doing something wrong.

Does anyone recognize what is wrong with this bird’s nest fern? :( it’s never really been happy. Repotted it back in May. It gets low light, has drainage, might be a wee bit root bound already? I check regularly for pests and don’t see any evidence of them. There are, however, old scars from cat bites. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø It is getting a new leaf in the middle, at least! Thank you!

Hi! Noticed my alocasia odoro silver is yellowing, I see healthy roots but it doesn’t seem rooted enough for a repot which is what Planta diagnosed (suggested repot). I don’t believe I’m overwatering etc. Just any tips? Thanks!

I have been doing some cuttings. However, I was changing the water and going to dip the ends in root hormone, but I saw this slimy, snot thing on the end of my Chinese evergreen cutting. Is this normal, is it just trying to grow roots? It’s only been in the water a week.

Hi guys! I got gifted this Calla Lily last October and it died pretty quickly, but I couldn’t bear to get rid of it. It got left in my humid apartment for a couple of months and when I got back it has kind of gone insane. I’ve never owned a lily before and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be drooping/growing like it is, or if I should keep it tied up as I have it now. Any advice?

Has anyone here used mineral oil in place of horticultural oil on their plants? Specifically to treat/prevent spider mites, etc. I’m hoping to get some insights on effectiveness, application techniques, etc.
