Newbie here with zero intuition about plants….last weekend I decided I’d give my beautiful begonia a treat and let her have some time in the sun on my patio. Instead she ended up badly sun-scorched. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø Is there anything I can/should do to help her, or just let her rest in the shade?

I’ve just begun taking an interest in plants and have had this poor thing in my basement bedroom for the past couple of years. The app tells me it’s a type of geranium, but I’m not even totally sure what it is. There’s a little new growth coming up and then one very etiolated, fragile branch. Any advice on ways to get this plant back into shape? I’ve moved it to a sunnier south-facing window upstairs and pruned off some dead parts but haven’t done much else with it yet.

Recently found fungus gnats in 2 of my 4 philodendrons, I’ve separated most of them, but I’m wondering if I should just repot right away or try a peroxide soak first? This is my first time handling them and I’m not sure what the best course of action is. TIA

My lemon tree has been barley alive for a few years. I almost killed it when I was a new plant mom. I let it hibernate in my basement (55-65 degrees) over the winter. When spring came it got new buds and even 2 flowers. But now it is just barely hanging in there. I have been giving it citrus fertilizer. Watering when the top soil is slightly damp. Any advice? Is it hopeless??

Hi! I just had what I think is my first encounter with thrips. I can’t see them (I have bad eyes lol) but the damage on the leaves looks like thrip damage. In addition to silvery marks, there are a few holes in leaves and one leaf with brown edges. Could this also be thrip damage? And does anyone have tips on how to treat them (especially on plants with more delicate leaves (nerve plant and oxalis)? Tysmm :)

please comment anything you know about using peroxide with succulents? some questions i have- •what’s the right ratio of 3% peroxide and water? •does it kill fungus growing on the top layer of soil? •should i use diluted peroxide to water my succulents? or stick to regular watering techniques? •is it true that using peroxide with plants is helpful?

I have had this peperomia for 5 months now, and I keep seeing two problems. 1) the bottom leaves get large and turn yellow and die off. And then 2) the healthy green foliage never grows any bigger. The leaves stay small, and the overall plant is the same size as when I got it. It just sprouted these two flowering rods, but no other visible growth. I have it in bright indirect light, and I have repotted it and pretty sure no bugs or root rot. Any suggestions?

I have an Audrey Ficus 8ft potted tree and recently the leaves have been turning yellow and black and falling. Others are starting to get yellow dots and I’m afraid my tree is going downhill. Can anyone help? We water once a week. I love our tree. Please help!

Picked up this monstera from Trader Joe’s last week. Had a small case of root rot, so I trimmed suspect roots, repotted with fresh new soil, then watered with diluted hydrogen peroxide. Are these yellow leaves concerning? Also, when misting with neem oil this morning, I noticed about 4 fungus gnats walking around the pot. I’m assuming it’s just from being overwatered. Seeking advice and wanted to get a fresh set of eyes from more experienced people out there.

My asparagus fern has funnily enough been one of my most challenging plants. I have it sitting on a pebble tray now in an attempt to increase its humidity and water it when the soil is beginning to dry out. I’m thinking it wants a different lighting situation? But it could also be my watering, I truly don’t know. It’s getting filtered, indirect light from a south facing window right now. Any tips to help it out?
